freelance and commission work

Accepting Freelance Assignments

I'm interested in contributing to other projects as an artist and/or writer. In the past, I've worked with DC Comics and West End Games and I'd like to take on other similar projects where my talents and interest could be put to use in collaborative efforts. I'm also interested in other non-comic book assignments as an illustrator or writer. I'm selective to projects that will be of interest to me outside of my own personal work.

If you are an editor or and art director who is interested in me working on a creative project, please feel free to contact me at scott@scottmccullar.com with your contact information and your proposal, and I will get back in touch with you. I appreciate the considerations.

As to what types of projects that I am interested in accepting:

  • Writing - Comic book scripting
  • Writing - Short stories
  • Writing - Articles for Magazines, Journals, Books or websites
  • Illustration - Covers, spot illustrations, storyboards, comic book projects (penciller or my painted wash style) pages or covers, Roleplaying Game illustrations, instruction booklet illustration, etc.
  • Graphic Design - Logo design
  • Web Design - Website design or webmastering

Sketches

If you catch me at a comic book convention, I will do a FREE quick "head shot" pencil sketch of just any comic book character that you would like me to do for your sketchbook. You might want to bring a reference for me in case I'm not sure what the character looks like. For other individual sketches, I usually will negotiate an affordable fee or try to make a deal where if you'll buy whatever comic books I'm out there promoting, I'll probably throw in a free quick sketch if time permits.

If you're interested in a sketch from me that you'd like to place over the Internet, please contact me and I'll negotiate a price or deal.

If you're wanting something a little more substantial, with inks or color, I will take that assignment for a few dollars more.
