about Scott McCullar
Scott McCullar is the Creative Designer for Marketing and Communications at Benedictine University at Springfield. He has also taught various drawing, printmaking and computer art courses since 1997 at the college.
He is also a comic book writer and an artist who has written and drawn for various comic book publishers such as Shooting Star Comics, West End Games, DC Comics, Campfire Comics, and IDW Publishing.
Scott graduated from Springfield Southeast High School ('89) and received his B.F.A. from Illinois State University ('93) where he concentrated his studies in traditional printmaking and drawing. McCullar has exhibited his personal studio work in galleries across the country and also works as a freelance writer and illustrator. Scott resides in Sherman, Illinois with his wife, Roxie, and their two children, Rachel and Mitchell.
McCullar is a Shodan Black Belt and member of the Yoshukai Karate Alliance. He is actively involved in the martial arts, studying in the Yoshukai karate dojo located in Williamsville, Illinois.
Scott plays bass guitar for the Rambling Elk Rhythm and Blues Revue, a semi-acoustic band playing out of Elkhart, Illinois.
Scott enjoys art, music and writing. His other past times include playing classic arcade games and collecting comic books and vintage Hasbro G.I. Joe action figures.
